This poster presents a low-intermediate level ESL textbook chapter focusing on writing a five-paragraph cause/effect essay. The chapter uses an inspirational reading text based on a real-life story and a multimodal activity based on a TED Talk for college ESL writers. The chapter also incorporates schema theory to enhance students’ learning.
