Dr. Popal has taught linguistics and ESL courses at various institutions in the Bay Area, Asia, and Europe since 1980 and has been an integral faculty member in the USF School of Education IME Department, particularly the MATESOL program, since 1993. His published research in bilingual education, linguistic code-switching and code-mixing has contributed significantly to scholarship in his field.
