Kathy Wada is a professor of academic ESL at Cypress College. After a 5 1/2 year stint as the dept. coordinator, she is currently enjoying the freedom to pursue other "fun" things such as ESL coding and accreditation at her campus.
She has been an ASCCC faculty representative for the Statewide AB 705 Implementation Committee, the AB 705 ESL Advisory Committee, the CB21 ESL Recoding Project, and the ASCCC Basic Skills committee. She is currently serving on the CCCCO Assessment Committee. Kathy is passionate about advocating for equity for ELs by creating innovative completion markers such as Guided Pathway ESL Milestone certificates and fighting against institutional inequity that denies advanced ESL course approvals for GE areas.
